SnapKey brings Cinema 4D-style pose morphing to After Effects, Illustrator's Turntable graduates out of beta, and Boris FX acquires Vegas Pro, Sound Forge, and Acid Pro.
This week - Illustrator's Turntable feature is now fully baked into the app, letting you take a flat 2D illustration and generate multiple rotated views using Firefly. SnapKey for After Effects lets you capture, blend, and recall animation states across multiple layers, similar to Cinema 4D's Pose Morph. Boris FX acquired Vegas Pro, Sound Forge, and Acid Pro from Magix, and Vegas Pro 2026 dropped the same day with Nvidia Blackwell GPU support, ProRes RAW, and Continuum titling tools built in.
Motionographer is relaunching as version 4.0 with a bigger announcement coming in May. Maxon revealed their NAB 2026 booth lineup with a hands-on C4D for iPad preview on the show floor, and RenderCon 2026 is happening April 16th and 17th in Hollywood with a stacked lineup of speakers and workshops covering AI pipelines, Gaussian splats, and the future of rendering.
We also have a Blender add-on roundup covering a free Flow-style Bezier curve editor, WrapKit for procedural surface wrapping, and a Geometry Nodes cloud system. Wafer, the stylized NPR texture painting app, opened a free Windows beta, and Jonathan Winbush put out a beginner-friendly ComfyUI tutorial. We are also featuring The Untranslatable Forest, a Blender short with a Kronos Quartet score, plus Reset Play and Tokyo based MULTRA, as well as our student of the week, Nico Huidobro out of Madrid.
