Setting up PBR materials in Unreal Engine by hand is a grind. We built a free plugin to automate the whole process.

Introducing Node Ninja for Unreal Engine - a FREE plugin that reads your texture folders and automatically builds complete, production-ready Unreal materials. Every map connected, every projection option ready. Grab it right now.

Why You Need It

Every PBR texture set comes with 4-8 maps. Each one needs to be imported, assigned to the right parameter, and wired into the Material Graph. Roughness and normals need their sampler type set to Linear Color or Normal - or they'll render wrong. Pick the wrong projection setup and you're redoing it from scratch. Now multiply that by a folder full of assets.

Node Ninja solves this automatically. Point it at a folder and it identifies every map by name, builds a complete Material Instance with the right sampler types, projection mode, and displacement settings - all before you've had a chance to do it wrong yourself.

Also included in the download: Node Surgeon, which upgrades existing SOM Material Instances without losing your texture assignments, and Nanite Ninja, a one-click Nanite enabler for any mesh.
