KitBash3D and Greyscalegorilla launch Cargo 3.0, Illustrator Beta gets AI sketch-to-vector, and Rokoko lets you generate mocap from a text prompt.

This week: Cargo 3.0 combines Greyscalegorilla’s lighting and material assets directly into the KitBash workflow in one unified app. Illustrator Beta's new Sketch to Vector feature takes any raster image or hand-drawn sketch and converts it to editable vector paths. Rokoko Create is a free browser-based tool that generates full-body character animations from text prompts, with FBX exports compatible with Blender, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, and more.

Also Figma Weave brings node-based AI workflow building into the Figma ecosystem following their Weavy acquisition. Adobe Firefly adds Precision Flow and AI Markup for more direct control over image generation. Substance 3D Painter 12.1 Beta introduces skew correction baking, hard surface auto-unwrap, and OpenPBR support. Photoshop Beta gets AI-powered layer renaming. Two Blender addons cover weight painting and physically accurate caustics. CBS Sports breaks down how they build NFL broadcast graphics using Unreal, Substance Painter, and Rokoko. Mark Cernosia shares how he uses Claude AI to run his solo studio.
