Photoshop Goes 3D, Blender 5.1 Delivers & DLSS 5 Has Gamers Freaking Out | Motion Mondays

Photoshop can now rotate 2D objects in 3D space, Adobe Firefly lets you train custom models on your own art, and Blender 5.1 ships with an Eevee Raycast node, faster animation playback, and Grease Pencil shape holes.

This week, Photoshop Beta's Rotate Object lets you spin any 2D cutout in 3D space — pair it with Harmonize and you've got a solid product compositing setup. Adobe Firefly Custom Models are in public beta, letting you train on your own art so output actually looks like your work. Blender 5.1 ships with a new Eevee Raycast node, big animation performance gains, and Grease Pencil shape holes. Redshift 2026.4 introduces Redshift Live, while OctaneRender 2027.1 alpha brings near noise-free viewport previews. JangaFX is offering six months of free tools to laid-off VFX and game artists. And NVIDIA's DLSS 5 has game artists going through the exact same AI reckoning we've been having in motion design for the past two years.
