Who is this course for?
This is a course for Motion Designers just like you! You don’t need to be a developer or know how to code to use Rive. In fact, we’ll be focusing on your strengths as an artist as we continue to master the animation and interaction design aspects of Rive. The only prerequisite is that you have some experience in Rive, or that you have taken our course, Rive Academy Volume 1 (<-- strongly recommended).
What will I learn?
In this course, we pick up where we left off in Volume 1. You’ll learn to master Rive’s text animation tools, explore Rive's revolutionary vector feathering techniques, dive into audio integration, learn to set up Rives bones system, joysticks and constraints, set up complex state machines, work with the responsive layout system, deploy to the web and much more. What is Interaction Design?
For decades, through the use of After Effects, Motion designers have been creating linear animation - i.e., animations that play from start to finish where the viewer remains passive in the experience. But things are changing fast and there is a new frontier: Interaction design.
Interaction Design is the next level of motion design. It brings animation from the linear world (of a simple start to finish playback) into a new world where animation is triggered through user interaction. In Interaction Design the user becomes an active part of the experience, which further draws them into that experience as they interact with the UI. This new frontier is growing fast in the world of tech startups, web design, and product design.

Companies Using Rive
What is Rive?
Rive is an application that makes it possible for motion designers to bring their skills into that new world of interaction design. Its tools and features, like the powerful State Machine, give designers the ability to create rich animated experiences where users can interact with motion design elements on websites, in software applications, through automotive UI’s and much more.
Rive is already being used by big brands and, just like After Effects has been the most important tool for Motion Designers since forever, we think Rive will dominate the world of interaction design. Rive is powerful and fun, and we absolutely love it - so naturally we made a course to teach you how to use it.
